Reiki
A Simple, Natural Way to Relieve Stress and Provide Relaxation

What is Reiki
Reiki is based on an ancient Japanese technique that allows for the reduction of stress, which then
enables the body to relax, thus encouraging a feeling a well being.
It is used more frequently now by doctors, nurses, hospitals and clinics, such as Manhattan Eye, Ear and
Throat, to help with recovery from surgery, and used in both operating and recovery rooms. It is also used
at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in NYC with Dr. Mehmet Oz, famous surgeon who has appeared on
Oprah.
Reiki was introduced by Dr. Usui in Japan, who took the ancient Principles of Reiki and put them into a
technique.
Reiki involves relaxing in a quiet room for either a half hour or one hour session. The patient wears
comfortable clothing and lies on a table, where the practitioner uses the hands either touching lightly or
suspended above the body, to effectively move energy and blockages.
Areas of concentration are the head, throat, lungs and spine, and also include the legs and arms, as well as
any areas of specific injuries.
Reiki provides a pleasant feeling of radiance that affects the body, mind and emotions, allowing relaxation
and reducing stress.

Sessions and Fees
1. The First Introductory Session is free.
You will receive a 10 minute consultation about Reiki and your needs, followed by a brief Reiki session to
get you started.

2. Follow Up Sessions
Available for 1/2  hour or 1 hour sessions
Half hour $25
Hour $50

It is recommended to have one session a week initially. Results and frequency will vary with each person.
Long Distance Reiki is also available. Please inquire for further details.
